A Miracle for Baby Eli!
August 5, 2010

Shawn and Jewels took their 3 month old son, Eli, to a specialist/surgeon this week to examine the growth that had been on Eli's neck since his birth.  The specialist indicated this type of growth usually expands for a number of years until it has to be surgically removed. However, since the growth on Eli's neck has been miraculously reduced by 80% in recent weeks, the doctor was amazed and concluded, in his opinion, the growth would continue to diminish until it was completely gone!

Shawn and Jewels would like to thank everyone in the church for their prayers and acknowledge God's miracle!

Mr. Schell recovering well!
June 10, 2010

Rosanne's June 6th update on her father:

My Dad's surgery went very well. The surgeon was please with how things went and we, as a family, are amazed at how good Dad looks. He seems to be quite clear when we're talking and doesn't seem to have any problems remembering things. He also has his sense of humour back!!  He has a rather large incision on his forehead and other than that it's hard to see that he really had any surgery done. He is starting to get bored and is looking forward to going home. Tomorrow he will have a physio therapist come in and do an assessment and if all looks good he may be discharged tomorrow already!!

From here I think he'll have a couple of weeks to recover and then they'll get him into radiation in Kitchener. It's great to see him come through this surgery so well. Thank you so much for your prayer support...it's neat to see how God can give such peace!

Rosanne's June 8th update:

Just another quick update...my Dad was waiting patiently for my mom and sister to get to the hospital yesterday as visiting hours began since he was already discharged and could hardly wait to get out of there!!! What a miracle to see him so changed and feeling so great!

Mr. Schell undergoes brain surgery Friday, June 4
June 3, 2010

Rosanne and Tamara's dad, Mr. Schell, will be in surgery tomorrow to remove a brain tumor. He is scheduled for 10:30 am (looks like a 3 hour operation).

When he went for the consult on Tuesday, it became rather clear that surgery was really their only option. The tumor is too large to just do radiation alone. If they didn't opt for surgery, the radiation would not be able to stop the growth of the tumor and before long Mr. Schell would be experiencing most of the symptoms of a tumor (headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea). The good news is the fact that the tumor looks rather superficial so they should be able to get at it fairly easily once they get inside the skull.

The family appreciates your love and prayer support.

Prayer Requested for Newborn Eli Shaw
May 10, 2010

Shawn and Julie are thankful for a second son, Eli, born earlier this evening (about 2 weeks earlier than expected).  The homebirth and delivery went well with Eli weighing in over 6 lbs.  Eli's vital signs are good.  There is concern about a growth on his neck and so both Eli and Julie were admitted to the Guelph General Hospital.  Thanks for your continued prayers for Shawn, Julie, and Eli.

Watch the prayer blog on this site for further updates.

At today's appointment, Leany Groshaw's doctor confirmed that her heart rate has increased considerably (this is a good thing!) -- there seems to be some stabilization!  Thank you for your continued prayers for Leany's good health.
